Whoa, Am I Behind On Blogging

Geeez, didn't realize it had been so long since I posted a blog. Things have been such a whirlwind since my diagnosis that I can't keep up. So here is an update:

Had a power port installed on May 8th. Thats so they can give my chemo and take blood through it and I will not feel anymore ouchie needle sticks nor burning from the strong dosages of chemo.

On May 9th, I called the doc because I thought I had a rash. Well lucky for me I called. My platelette count was down to 4 and mine is sually about 110. My white blood cell count was down to 1.2 and mine is usually around 15. So, into the hospital I went for a transfusion. Doc said if I had dropped any lower I could have died. Whew! Scarey thought for me.

So now, the power port inside my chest is infected and Home Healthcare nurses will be by tomorrow to show me how to administer an antibiotic through an IV for the next 7 days. My living room looks like a hospital room now EXCEPT I have no bed in it.

My son came home for a few days from Iraq and that was awesome. I had a great Mother's Day on Sunday and I hope ya'll did too!
