Dateline - To Catch A Predator

Has anyone else tuned in to watch Chris Hansen with Dateline for their To Catch A Predator investigative series? I am literally hooked on it because there is nothing I hate more than internet pervs. Yes, I said PERVS!

The entire series focuses on internet chat rooms. They hire young adults to pose as 13 or 14 year-old teens who have sexual chats with perverted adults who try and lure them into meeting them for sex. Personally, I consider this entrapment the same as I do when a cop sets on the side of the road with a radar gun just so he can make his monthly ticket quota. However, this is a growing problem and most definitely needs to be stopped. These pervs go after teens and it is SICK!

Last night, they were set up at a "mock" house in Texas. It was unreal how many men from ALL walks of life turned up at this house supposedly to meet a 13-year old girl they had chatted with on the net. These men ranged anywhere from 18 to 53 in age. They even had proof that one man was a D.A. in a neighboring county. Oh, I feel so much better knowing that. NOT!

Anyway, in Texas there is evidently some sort of law that just "chatting" alone in a sexual conversation with a minor can get you arrested even if you never show up to actually meet your "victim". They can bust your chops just for mentioning sex to a minor on the net OR transmitting photos of your genitals.

What really gets me about all of this is almost every man they busted last night admitted they had saw a previous episode of Dateline doing this. Uh, call me stupid you know dude??? So if they saw this and still went ahead with their plan, they have to be super idiots.

One man was married and had a 13 year old daughter at home. This sick bastard would never be allowed around his daughter again if he was my husband. Their excuses were almost funny. One man said, "my best friends Mom has cancer and I guess I was too stressed to know what I was doing." Yeah right bozo, you sure as hell knew, you just didn't think you would ger tou big ass caught. Another man who thought he was meeting a young boy claimed, "I just came over to shot some pool." This same man had sent this "boy" a photo of himself while "jacking off". One man was even a cop and he arrived with a trunk load of LOADED guns. OMG!

My overall point is this? Who is really responsible for this when an actual teen is involved? God knows that most 13 year olds these days look about 25, lol. Do we blame the internet? Do we blame these kids? Or do we as parents need to take some responsibility and make it a point to KNOW what our kids are doing online? When my kids were still at home, we had computers BUT I made sure they remained in the family room and NOT in their bedrooms so I could keep an eye on what they were doing as I walked by.

I am so sickened by these men (and there are women too) who take advantage of these kids and get their jollies by sexually abusing and using them. If it were up to me, I would yank hold of their penis, slap over a chopping block, and start slicing like there was no tomorrow. I bet things would slow down a lot when word of that got out. What the hell is wrong with people, can they not get off with an adult???? Ewwwwwwww, I have just pissed myself off all over again thinking about these crazy pigs. I literally despise a sexual predator. Kill them all I say!

Oh, did I mention that one of the busted pervs has now committed suicide over this? Good riddance is the first thought that comes to mind.

So now, how was your day people?
